About Us

At the Smithton Country Club you will meet friendly people who are only too willing to show you the hospitality of Circular Head. It is the people of our club that you will remember from your visit here - they will make your time at our club a memorable experience, whether you have a game of golf, a roll on our lawn bowls rink or just a drink and a chat in the warm ambience of our club house.

The Golf Course - 9 holes, bordered by the Duck River on the eastern side, proves to be a challenge to even the most experienced golfer. We have organized competitions on: Wednesday (Ladies) at 9.30am, Saturday - Ladies at 9.30am and Men at 11.30am. Sundays is usually a mixed day with competition starting at 11.30am. The Clubhouse - has a warm, friendly bar area that overlooks the golf course. Looking out from the bar area you can see play on the 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd, 8 th and 9 th holes. Our function room is capable of seating 100 people. This room is available for your special occasion and catering is easily organized. We boast some of the best cooks in the area and guarantee that you will be happy with your meal. Costs are available by consulting with Management. The western end of our function room looks out over our Lawn Bowls Rink and during the Lawn Bowls season there is always the opportunity to watch and learn while our local bowlers practice.

Smithton is the largest township in the rural area of Circular Head. Our town offers a variety of accommodation with hotels and several B&B's - all just a phone call away. We are just 15 minutes from the tourist township of Stanley. Stanley also has a 9 hole Golf Course - make it a point to play both courses as they are vastly different from each other.

Heading further West towards Marrawah The Country Club is just a short drive away from Dismal Swamp. Travel further West and you will come across some of the best beaches in Australia. Back to Smithton and travel to Woolnorth and view the Windmills. Smithton boasts some of the most beautiful areas in the world.
